The Absorptometer Mixer measures the oil absorption of pigments and inorganic fillers

The instrument replaces the need for labor intensive, operator dependent manual rubout techniques by generating consistent and reproducible results with ease of operation.

It is the primary instrument used in the Carbon Black Industry to determine the OIL number according to ASTM D 2414. Recently, its usage has expanded to the testing of silica, titania and other mineral fillers.

The Absorptometer Mixer has a 100ml capacity bowl with fixed blades. The bowls can be constructed of Velvetized Stainless Steel, Aluminum Construction Hard Kote, and/or Aluminum Construction Clear Anodized. They are not temperature controlled, therefore an optional Aluminum Cooling Jacket is available to provide precise temperature control.
