The Lab-Station Plasti-Corder® is a modular configured torque rheometer that utilizes the latest developments in CAN Field Bus Technology.

The unit is equipped with a powerful and reliable serial data communication system for the exchange of messages between different control units.

The CAN protocol, in essence, is a network suited for “intelligent” devices. All integrated modules such as controllers, sensors, components, etc., are simply one node within a line of many nodes. The nodes are connected in a certain order while each individual node is configured and allocated to a corresponding drive attachment whether it is a mixing/measuring head dock or an extruder dock with a die assembly.

Since the Lab-Station is comprised of self-intelligent modules, the instrument is capable of self-diagnostics and registration. During start-up and initial operation, nodes are contacted to run a self-test. In the event of an error being detected a transmission corresponding to the error is clearly defined along the bus. The information is then displayed on the operator’s PC. It eliminates the onerous task of trail and error by pinpointing the faulty apparatus.
