Brabender® Rotary Mill
Milling for analysis

The Brabender® Rotary Mill is ideal for laboratory sample preparation...the Rotary Pulverizer System grinds materials prior to the analysis:

Fibrous Materials: • hay • grass • straw • tobacco • leaves • fibers • synthetic fibers

Tough Materials: • pasta • leather • furs • linoleum • cellulose • plastics

Rigid Materials: • roots • cocoa shells • charcoal

Operating Principle

Wiley Mill schematic
Load material through the feed hopper into the grinding chamber of the mill. A slide gate at the hopper outlet permits precise dosing of the material. The grinding chamber is equipped with four special steel stationary cutting knives. The rotor, which is fixed to the motor shaft, has six exchangeable, adjustable knives operating edge against edge with the stationary cutting knives for grinding the material.

Vary the degree of fineness according to your needs by mounting interchangeable sieves into the lower part of the grinding chamber. The ground material falls through the sieve into a collector, while the rejects are ground until they have reached the desired degree of fineness.

Safety switches in the grinding chamber and at the collector prevent operation of the mill when the door of the grinding chamber is open.
